Master Gallery Foods (Cheese Company)

I was reading an article in the Biz Times today and it featured an announcement of a large expansion by Master Gallery Foods of Plymouth, WI.

Master Gallery Foods plans to build a $30 million plant in Oostburg, WI. The first phase will be a 150,000 sq ft plant on a 40 acre plot north of the Oostburg Business Park. The new plant will accommodate the same functions of the original plant in Plymouth, with slicing, shredding, chunking and sticking natural cheese. The plant is expected to create 120 new jobs over the next 3 years.

The company plans to break ground next spring and initiate operations in early 2018. There are 2 potential additions in the facility, which would increase the size to 350,000 sq ft. This additional expansion has the potential to create another 200 jobs.

The expansion will grow the company’s private brand retail and food service cheese offerings. The growth has been driven by its private label business at the retail level along with a general increase in consumption. This also prepares the company for increased global demand in the future.

Master Foods Gallery opened its doors in 1969 by the Gentine Family with a 40,000 sq ft facility. Today the Plymouth headquarters is a 310,000 sq ft facility with 600 employees statewide.

The expansion, if completed in it entirety, will double it’s current size and capacity.
