This article, The New Roles of Leaders in 21st Century Organizations, tackles the need to be a leader outside the mold of a traditional leader. Traditional leader can change and must change if they are to be successful for the organization and being that leader.

I know this article spells the change for the traditional leader of a large publicly traded company but can very well be transferred to a smaller and mid-size business. None of us in the business world live in a cocoon or are isolated, so getting on the leading edge of changing principles larger organization are doing can be beneficial to each of us. Of course, it has to make sense, but we should not shutter without exploring new concepts.
