New Owners for Whistling Swan Inn & Restaurant

Accommodation, Food & Beverage

The Whistling Swan, the Door Peninsula's oldest operating inn, was originally built in Marinette, Wisconsin, in 1887. In 1907, it was moved across the ice of Green Bay by teams of horses to become part of Dr. and Mrs. Welcker's Resort and Casino. The inn, along with its other historic neighbors, has been designated part of the Welcker Historic District and is listed on both State and National Historic Register.

Today, the Whistling Swan Inn is known throughout Door County as one of the best inn and restaurants to rest and rejuvenate and it's also has been known to have the area’s most incredible cuisine, according to the new owner Amos Goaz. The Goaz Group owns and operates the Loft Fish Creek (formerly Junipers Restaurant and C&C Club), in addition to three other retail locations in Fish Creek and Sister Bay. Bill & Michelle Tressler recently commented that after 18 years as stewards of the beautiful and historical Whistling Swan Inn & Restaurant, they would like to share their bittersweet news of its sale to a new caretaker. For many years The Tressler’s have maintained high service standards with superb quality; there is great confidence that the new owner will ensure its bright future. The Whistling Swan will forever be part of Door County and Fish Creek history. The inn will remain open this winter and after a brief respite, the restaurant will reopen under the same name in Spring of 2022. If you have a gift certificate to the Whistling Swan, please be assured that the new owner will be honoring those gift certificates.
